What

  • New command linkedin person endorse <url>. It takes exactly one of:
    • --skill <name>: endorse one skill, by its exact name;
    • --pattern <re>: repeatable; endorse every skill whose name matches any of the RE2 patterns;
    • --all: endorse every skill.
  • Giving none of them, or more than one, is a usage error (exit 5) raised before any API call, so nothing gets endorsed by accident.
  • Output:
    • with --pattern or --all, one line per selected skill, Endorsed: <skill> or Not endorsed: <skill> - <errorType>;
    • with --skill, the standard void output or error;
    • --json returns the standard envelope.
  • stEndorsements is added to admin limits set and admin limits delete.
  • The person topic description now mentions endorsing.
  • @linkedapi/node ^2.3.19; version 1.2.22.

Checks

  • npm run lint, npm run typecheck and npm run build pass.
  • The command was run in a real pseudo-terminal and with --json, against a local HTTP stub:
    • all five invalid flag combinations exit 5 with zero requests;
    • --skill, repeated --pattern and --all post the expected workflow (--all sends no patterns);
    • the cases covered are success, mixed limitExceeded / endorsementUnavailable, skillNotFound and connectionNotFound;
    • admin limits set and delete send stEndorsements.

Release

Publish no later than linkedin-skills 1.0.17, which documents this command.
